Mindanao's economic and cultural hub is now even more connected to the Philippines and the rest of the globe thanks to the launch of new domestic and international flights from Davao by Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the country's top airline.
Beginning on October 27, 2024, CEB will run four weekly flights to Hong Kong in addition to daily flights between Davao and Caticlan and Puerto Princesa. In the meanwhile, on October 28 and October 29, respectively, three weekly flights to Bangkok-Don Mueang and Tacloban will start operating.
“We are thrilled to expand our network to and from Davao, strengthening the city’s connectivity both locally and globally. With the addition of these domestic and international flights, Cebu Pacific reaffirms its commitment to supporting Davao’s growing role as a key economic hub. These routes offer greater convenience for travelers and open new opportunities for tourism, business, and cultural exchange, all while promoting inclusive growth in the region,” said Candice Iyog, CEB Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer.
In order to get to Hong Kong and Bangkok with layovers, travelers from Davao have to schedule connecting flights from Manila and travel for up to eight hours. CEB's direct international flights from Davao eliminate the need for passengers to wait at another airport or pay more for an extra stop during their stopover.
Travel time can now be reduced by up to five hours from Davao to Hong Kong and Bangkok in 3.5 hours. Additionally, passengers from Davao can save up to 35% on one-way tickets to Hong Kong and up to 99% on one-way tickets to Bangkok when they fly directly with CEB.
Travelers will have more opportunity to see the famous landmarks, mouthwatering cuisine, and lively cultures of Caticlan, Puerto Princesa, and Tacloban thanks to the direct flights from Davao to these locations. In addition, CEB currently offers direct flights from Davao to Manila, Cebu, Clark, Bacolod, Cagayan De Oro, Iloilo, Siargao, Tagbilaran, and Zamboanga.
