Overcoming Fitness Fears with Home Credit's Takbo #ParaSaLife

With its inaugural fun run, Takbo #ParaSaLife, Home Credit Philippines (HCPH), the nation's top consumer financing institution, is making a big step toward encouraging community involvement and wellbeing. This event, which is scheduled for February 16 in Parqal in Aseana City, encourages Filipinos to start the year off in a healthy and active manner.

Takbo #ParaSaLife, which is organized in collaboration with WeKenRun, a local running organization founded by renowned marathon coach Ken Mendiola, offers 1K, 3K, 5K, and 10K race categories to accommodate runners of all skill levels.

Through this program, HCPH reaffirms its dedication to enabling Filipinos to lead more fulfilling lives. In addition to providing financial solutions, the organization aims to foster holistic well-being, which includes mental, emotional, and physical health, by fostering community gatherings and encouraging healthier lifestyle choices.

“Home Credit is committed to empowering Filipinos to live the life they deserve, and this extends beyond financial well-being. Beyond providing financial services, with this run we are encouraging Filipinos to improve their overall well-being, enabling them to do more #ParaSaLife,” Sheila Paul, Chief Marketing Officer of HCPH said.

All participants are welcome to take part in Takbo #ParaSaLife, including fitness enthusiasts, those starting a wellness journey, and HCPH staff, family, friends, and customers. Registration costs are PhP500 for the 1K, PhP900 for the 3K, PhP1,000 for the 5K, and PhP1,200 for the 10K, depending on the event distance. Depending on the distance chosen, each category offers interesting benefits including a bib holder, a finisher's medal, a loot bag, and an event shirt.

“This initiative is about more than just running. It is about building a community that supports one another in achieving better health and wellness. We hope this event will inspire individuals to build lasting, healthy habits that empower them to achieve more life goals,” Paul added.

All participants will receive freebies, and those who place third in the 10K, 5K, and 3K race categories will receive thrilling cash rewards. PhP10,000 will be given to the 10K category winners, PhP8,000 to the runner-up, and PhP6,000 to the third place finisher. First place in the 5K category will get PhP6,000, second place will earn PhP3,000, and third place will earn PhP2,000. The winner of the 3K division will get PhP3,000, while the runners-up will get PhP1,500 and PhP1,000, respectively.

The importance of events like the Takbo #ParaSaLife has never been greater, particularly in view of recent World Health Organization (WHO) data showing a global increase in physical inactivity, a significant risk factor for chronic diseases. With 39.7% of the population suffering from a lack of physical activity, the Philippines has one of the highest rates.
