Davao’s Street Dance Scene Heats Up at Red Bull Dance Your Style
As a premier global 1-on-1 street dance competition, Red Bull Dance Your Style brought together an array of styles—from hip-hop and house to waacking, popping, and locking—transforming the dance floor into a high-energy battleground. The crowd played a pivotal role, voting for their favorite performances based on creativity, skill, and stage presence.
After a fierce series of battles, SUJI rose to the top, impressing both the audience and judges with flawless technique and magnetic charisma.
"I came without expectations—just pure passion for dance," said SUJI, reflecting on the win. "A friend made it possible for me to compete, so I gave it my all."
With this victory, SUJI secures a spot in the Red Bull Dance Your Style National Finals in Cebu on May 24, where the country’s best dancers will compete for the chance to represent the Philippines at the World Finals in Los Angeles this October.
For SUJI, the competition was more than just winning—it was about self-discovery and connection. "I relied on seven years of freestyle experience, reading the crowd and my opponents," they shared. "Dance is a conversation without words—it’s about energy and instinct."
Looking ahead to the Nationals, SUJI plans to stay true to their style. "I’m not chasing victory; I’m chasing the experience. I want to see how my movement resonates with people."
The next stop in the competition is Manila on April 25, with registrations now open for aspiring dancers. Don’t miss the National Finals in Cebu—secure your tickets via Red Bull’s official website.
