EastWest 2025 Dream Run: “Dagan Para sa Damgo” Comes to Davao
When EastWest's Dream Run 2025 got underway on April 6, 2025, Davao City saw a wave of excitement as almost 4,000 runners came together to celebrate movement, milestones, and dreams. In celebration of EastWest's 30th anniversary and Filinvest Group's 70th milestone year—bringing communities together via fitness, enjoyment, and common goals—the event, which was organized in collaboration with RunRio, marked the exciting beginning of a three-leg race series.
The event demonstrated Davao's strong running culture and passion for fitness, as the 10K and 5K categories sold out. But runners of all skill levels—from weekend joggers to seasoned athletes—embraced the morning with tenacity and excitement, regardless of whether they participated in the 1K Dog Run, 2K Kids Run, 5K, 10K, or the ultimate 30K challenge.“We brought the Dream Run to Davao to inspire healthier lifestyles, but more importantly, to
bring people together in a meaningful and memorable way,” said Martin Reyes, EastWest’s
Head of Marketing. “It’s a celebration of how far we’ve come and how far we’re still going.”
The event celebrated standout performances across all categories—from elite athletes to
energetic kids and proud pet owners:
• 30K Male Champion: Joerge Andrade
• 30K Female Champion: Yahchevah Daligdig
• 10K Male Champion: Jimboy Lugay
• 10K Female Champion: Wenjie Lugayao
• 5K Male Champion: Freitz Abraham Cabanig
• 5K Female Champion: Mary Jane Pagayon
• 2K Kids Run Male Champion: Samuel Phillean Ocon
• 2K Kids Run Female Champion: Daniela Maureen Lausan
• 1K Dog Run Male Champion (Human + Dog): Carlito Sausal Jr
• 1K Dog Run Female Champion (Human + Dog): Angeli Gonzales
“Running means something different for everyone,” shared Coach Rio dela Cruz, head of RunRio and a leading figure in the running community in the country. “Seeing families, friends, and even pets cross the finish line—lahat may kanya-kanyang dahilan, pero iisa ang goal: to chase their dream. The EastWest Dream Run reminds us that every step, no matter how small, brings us closer to where we want to be.”
This celebration of movement and community embodied EastWest's core values of assisting individuals in moving forward toward their objectives in life and in their health.
“Davao brought out something special,” said Mike Nacional, EastWest Mindanao Stores Head. “We watched families, officemates, even whole groups of friends come out in full force—not only to run, but to genuinely support one another. That kind of atmosphere—warm, sincere, and full of life—stays with you long after the race ends.”
The EastWest Davao Dream Run sets the standard for future events as EastWest continues to encourage Filipinos to take the first step toward their goals. There is still time to join this motivational movement since the Cebu and Manila legs are still in progress. Register now by tying your laces at www.eastwestbanker.com/dream-run2025.
